Firearms Acquisitions Associate - Rock Island Auction Company : Job Details

Firearms Acquisitions Associate Establishing relationships for the #1 firearms auction house in the world, Acquisitions Associate is responsible for differentiating to potential clients why Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) is the best place to consign firearms. Kicking off the auction process, the acquisitions team spends much of the day on the phone bringing in thousands of firearms/guns, bladed weaponry, military artifacts, historic relics, and relevant accessories, which are then sold in world-class auctions. This non-exempt, full-time position is 100% on-site with an hourly gross base rate of $23.00 and eligibility for insurance benefits after meeting the required waiting period. Pay days are every Thursday! RIAC standard hours of operations are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. CST with overtime and weekend hours, as needed. Click here to check out RIAC's hiring video! What does a typical day for Acquisitions Associate look like?

• Contact consignors by phone to present RIAC auction services (up to 90% of the time);
• Learn about different types of firearms or other weaponry through training;
• Communicate with other departments by logging detailed notes, special instructions,and other important information with an internal customer database; and
• Travel occasionally to represent RIAC at trade shows, conferences, and see collections first-hand at consignor locations.

Qualified candidates meet the following requirements:

• Ability and willingness to demonstrate proper business etiquette on the phone and understand the importance of empathy when connecting with potential consignors;
• Highly motivated and passionate when working toward common goals;
• Proven prior work experience with customers or clients, and appreciation for strong relationships and the time and effort it takes to build such; and
• Knowledge and understanding that patience pays off in the long run, and an aptitude for challenges, which lend themselves to employee growth and development year-over-year.
