Responds to fire and other emergency situations.

Operates fire equipment and assists in the suppression of fires.

Assists with fire prevention activities.

May administer first aid.

Tests and maintains a wide variety of fire equipment.

Maintains fire engine.

Maintains monthly safety inspection records.

Maintains a vehicle mileage log.

Maintains fire station and grounds and facilities maintenance.

Answers telephone and radio equipment as necessary.

Participates in related training programs and drills and may train subordinate staff and community members.

Identifies potential fire hazards and suggests processes for mitigation.

Other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications:

Possess High School Diploma or GED.

Must possess a valid California driver's license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe's driving policy and insurance requirements.

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Must be able to work shifts if necessary.

Must possess First Aid Certificate.

Must undergo pre-employment and annual physical exam.

Must pass work capacity test for arduous positions.

Must be organized, self motivated and able to perform tasks independently.

Must be able to interact professionally with people with a wide variety of backgrounds.

Able to follow detailed instructions in emergency situations.

Must have completed County Fire Academy or possess Fire Fighter I certification.
