As Sr. Firmware Manager – Machine Learning, you will be a hands-on leader tasked with enabling (electronics and sensors) and implementing (firmware) machine learning solutions. Your team members will be tasked to highly cross-functional teams to make power tool solutions that change the lives of our users. In addition, you will act as a technical expert in the creation of these concepts and support them as products through implementation, validation, and transfer to production.You'll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:Manage and lead a small to medium size team of engineers.Lead the designing, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting of embedded electronics for machine learning (ML) projects.Develop sensors and electronics to enable machine learning algorithms within power toolsExecute innovation projects to pioneer the future of machine learning in power toolsSupport new product development (NPD) in delivering new-to-world machine learning enabled products.Quickly, effectively, and candidly frame-up and escalate business risks/opportunities to senior leadershipEffectively communicate and motivate up, down and across the organization to a diverse range of technical and non-technical team membersIdentify new innovations and strategic opportunities while considering financial impact and competitivenessEstablish and maintain a strong awareness of competitive offerings, product strategies, and business climate to shape a best-in-class roadmapAssist in defining robust development roadmaps with project scope and resource plans that ensure the team has the time and resources required to be successfulPerform technical writing and presentations with proficiencyEmbrace power tools with sawdust and sparksWhat TOOLS you'll bring with you:Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. 10+ years of highly successful experience with embedded C/C++ in a related field. 5+ years of team leadership experience.Extensive experience in product development including embedded systems, firmware development, and agile development processes and tools.Experience developing bare-metal firmware designs and those utilizing an RTOS.Knowledge and practical experience in all software development lifecycle phases.Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer reviews.Experience in machine learning model development, optimization, cloud processing, data storage, pipelines, and embedded environmentsExperience in electronics hardware, firmware, microcontrollers, controller design, stability, robotics, sensor physics, and/or mechanicsExperience in time series modelling, especially with related domains such as NLP, SLAM, ML forecasting, audio/video, and/or vibrational analysisProficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, e-loads, and data acquisition systemsAbility to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally).Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or MBA.
