Position Overview:

Skokie Country Club is seeking a dedicated and professional Lead Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional member and guest experiences by supporting all facets of our Professional Golf Staff. The ideal candidate will embody our commitment to the highest level of member service and satisfaction while embracing the culture of excellence and camaraderie at Skokie Country Club.

Key Responsibilities:

Member and Guest Engagement:

o Warmly welcome members and guests, proactively anticipate their needs, and ensure an outstanding experience.

o Serve as a ranger and starter, fostering a seamless flow of play.

Tournament Operations:

o Support the organization and execution of tournaments and events, ensuring top-tier experiences.

o Monitor and utilize software such as Whoosh and TagMarshal for efficient operations.

Instructional Programs:

o Provide instruction in our Junior Golf Program.

o Conduct individual lessons and group clinics to enhance members' skills and enjoyment of the game.

Golf Shop Operations:

o Collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to maintain an inviting and well-stocked Golf Shop.

o Assist in merchandising and sales to achieve and exceed sales goals.

Staff Management:

o Assist in supervising the outside service staff, ensuring the highest quality of member and guest experiences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Traits:

Progress toward completion of the PGA program is required.

Solid knowledge of golf operations, tournament management, and the Rules of Golf.

Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities.

Self-motivated with a continuous desire to learn and grow within the golf industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with golf-specific software.

A professional demeanor and the ability to maintain a positive, welcoming attitude with members, guests, and team members.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $1,250 per week for 40 weeks

Instruction Income: 92.35% of lesson revenue

Clothing Allowance: $600 annually

Housing: On-property housing available if needed ($50/month)

About Skokie Country Club:

Rounds Played Annually: 21,000-22,000

Golf Shop Sales: $850,000 annually

Tournament Highlights: Robust schedule, including hosting the 2025 Western Amateur

Corporate Outings: 5-6 per season

Facilities: Indoor simulator for teaching and club fitting

Member Community: 300 total members with a seven-year waitlist

Caddie Program: A strong tradition and integral part of the clubs golf culture
