Job Title: Fisheries Project ManagerLocation: Remote/ Narragansett, RI AreaClearance Required: Public Trust EligibleDescriptionIBSS is seeking a Full Time Project Manager to support NOAA's Offshore Wind and Ecology Branch (OWEB) team's progress on a diverse suite of scientific projects. This person will also assist with the implementation of the Northeast Fisheries Science Center (NEFSC) survey mitigation program, and organize scientific, technical, and interagency/intersector meetings.The OWEB operates a variety of research initiatives encompassing the growing offshore wind energy industry and its effects on the nation's resources. The OWEB works with partners in the offshore wind industry to mitigate the effects of wind energy construction and operations on NEFSC's scientific surveys of marine organisms, habitats, and ecosystems.Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, track, and communicate progress on projects, tasks, and deliverables and ensure all projects are on-time and within scope
- Implement and oversee execution of short and long term program plans, scheduling, budgeting, and supporting organizational tasks, including overseeing staffing agreements
- Plan, schedule, coordinate survey mitigation program implementation
- Developing OWEB website content
- Respond to scientific program taskers and requests for information
- Develop a process for tracking potential interactions between wind energy area development and federal scientific surveys
- Develop program funding proposals and scopes of work
- Scientific planning document development and review
- Organize and facilitate online and in-person meetings/ workshops; drafting agendas and taking/ distributing minutes.
- Implement project management program to support center wide survey mitigation efforts, including engagement timeline with wind developers in compliance with requirements and tracking/communicating construction updates for wind developments
- Manage and respond to communications sent to the survey mitigation email address
Required Skills /Education/ Certifications & Qualifications:
- Masters or PhD in Marine Science or Fisheries field
- PMP or equivalent certification with experience in project management
- This role may require limited, occasional days at sea
- Experience planning and leading group meetings and/or workshops
- Experience working with fisheries, environmental interests, and renewable energy
- Experience with technical writing
- Detail oriented and organized with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently
