Job Type Part-time Description Planet Fitness Stockton March Lane is looking for a dynamic individual to join their team. As a Certified Fitness Instructor at Planet Fitness, you will lead our PE@PF (Planet Exercise at Planet Fitness) program, guiding members in small group training sessions designed to educate and empower them in their fitness journey. You'll provide a welcoming, non-intimidating environment where members of all experience levels can achieve their fitness goals. This role emphasizes member engagement, motivation, and education, with a focus on creating raving fans of Planet Fitness. Key Responsibilities: 1.Program Delivery and Member Support - Conduct small group training sessions, including New Member Orientations and specialty classes (e.g., Core, Upper Body, TRX, 30-Minute Circuit). - Design individualized exercise programs based on members' fitness levels, goals, and medical backgrounds. - Educate members on proper form, fitness concepts, and functional exercises. - Track and submit training logs, class attendance, and program success metrics.
Member Engagement and Communication - Act as a fitness ambassador by engaging with members, promoting PE@PF programs, and building lasting relationships. - Encourage participation in fitness sessions, offering motivation and guidance throughout members' fitness journeys. - Educate members on the use of the Planet Fitness App for additional workouts and progress tracking.
Facility Maintenance and Equipment Inspection - Regularly inspect gym equipment, ensuring it's safe, clean, and functional, and report any issues promptly. - Maintain cleanliness and organization in training and workout areas.
Safety and Compliance - Conduct health history interviews to assess exercise readiness and refer members to appropriate professionals if necessary. - Respond to emergency situations as needed and ensure all AED equipment is in working order. This role is subject to successful completion of a background check, after offer acceptance. All background screens will be conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. Requirements
- Valid personal training certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, NCSF).
- Previous experience leading group fitness classes and creating individualized workout plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, motivational presence; knowledge of fitness principles, exercise physiology, and small group training.
- CPR/AED certification, proficiency in using fitness technology and apps.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands:
- Continual standing and walking during shift, bending, twisting, reaching. jogging.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
