Job Description
  • Must be able to work safely in a production environment.
  • Assemble all phases of power unit construction using a bill of material, arrangement drawing and schematic. (Use of hand tools such as tape measure, pneumatic tools and metal cutting equipment required.)
  • Finish weld pipe joints and structural assemblies per established welding codes using various welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and FCAW.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision according to standard shop guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Will work in an industrial environment in and around large machinery.
  • Proper safety equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
  • Overtime may be requested.
  • Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate plus vocational/technical training in welding field/trade.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written. Must demonstrate the ability to listen carefully, follow directions accurately, and complete work assignments in a timely manner.
  • Able to read drawings and schematics.
  • Demonstrated competency at welding and assembling systems.
  • Capable of passing welder qualification test.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to develop proper welding techniques.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with one to two years prior welding and assembly experience required in related field.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous pipe welding experience.
