The Floor Covering Estimator is responsible for preparing and coordinating estimates and floor measuring for all projects. Job Functions: Review and evaluate requests for estimates. Visits job sites to conduct field measurements where required. Contact and meet with corporate clients, designers, sales and manufacturer representatives to obtain the necessary information to complete estimates. Prepares estimates for large and complex projects, using RFMS (or equivalent) software. Attend scope review meetings with clients, architects and contractors. Create project files. Organize projects by priority and required completion dates. Maintain information and resources on products and vendors. Research and resolve discrepancies and issues that arise in the course of a project. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company and vendor sponsored educational and product workshops. Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blue prints and specifications. Intermediate Level PC skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel Proficiency with electronic estimating software, such as RFMS or equivalent. Solid communication skills, including verbal, oral, written and listening skills. Must possess creative problem-solving skills and exercise good business judgment. Must be organized and detail-oriented. General knowledge of the floor covering industry. Level of Education/Training/License: Experience: Commercial floor covering estimating experience preferred but not required.
