**Job Description**

The Front Desk Manager is responsible for all duties of the front desk operation which includes: staff training, inter-department communications, and staff scheduling. The Front Office Manager should possess strong communication skills and demonstrate leadership abilities. In addition to assisting in the operation of the Front Office operation and guest services personnel, this position will respond quickly to guest requests and/or complaints in a friendly manner and ensure that appropriate action is taken to guarantee guest satisfaction.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

* Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the hotels Front Office operations

* Develop and recommend the budget, labor cost plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans

* Maintain guest room inventory

* Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt Service Standards and Procedures

* Perform all tasks of a Front Office Staff as needed to facilitate service

* Ensure all operations and cash handling are done per policies and procedures

* Maintain excellent communication with the housekeeping department

* Maintain information on prices, rates, specials, packages, programs, etc., while ensuring all staff are trained in all areas

* Analyze, investigate, and resolve guest complaints

* Create expectations, lead people, manage processes, and hold people accountable for the agreed upon activities and time tables

* Insures proper staffing levels for customer service goals

* Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

**Job Requirements**

* Hotel pre-opening experience preferred

* Experience working with Local 6 a plus

* Experience and a thorough understanding of Front Office operations

* Have an impeccable eye for detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency

* Open availability - ability to work overnights, weekends, and holidays

* Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English, bilingualism an asset

* Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision

* Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

* Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

* Ability to complete all tasks despite stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions

* Strong supervisory and communication skills

* Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission

* Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the resort casino

Must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, 24-hour resort casino environment and effectively deal with guests, colleagues, vendors and members of the business community in all situations

Other Skills/Abilities:

Must be able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues

*Work/Educational Experience*

Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations

Associates Degree in Business or closely related field

OR Three (3) years experience in a Supervisory position or equivalent

OR Two (2) years management experience in the hiring positions Department

* Previous experience in a five-star facility preferred

* Previous experience in a resort casino environment preferred
