Job Summary

Job Title: Floral Clerk

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports To: Produce Department Manager

We are looking for a part-time floral clerk - 16 hours per week.

Responsible for performing store displays and case sets, in an effort to ensure quality and store standards. This position will be directly reporting to the produce department management. This position will work closely with produce associates in an effort to ensure an enjoyable shopping experience is consistently delivered.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Control Shrink
  • Weekly documentation and tracking of all products
  • Ensure accurate pricing on all products sold
  • Ensure all department standards are being met in the floral department
  • Observe sales floor and backroom conditions; take actions to correct areas of opportunity
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels and ensures accurate pricing on products received and sold
  • Work closely with vendors and ensure that order timelines are met
  • Communicate and work cooperatively with store director, produce management and other departments
  • Contributes to overall cleanliness of department by picking up, organizing, cleaning work areas and sales floor
  • Provide customer service to guests
  • Assist guests with finding items they are looking for
  • Take orders and special requests
  • Answer telephones and assist callers using proper phone etiquette
  • Required to maintain food safety logs
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in floral care and handling
  • Ability to create and design floral arrangements
  • Good communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word;
  • Organized, professional, resourceful, proactive, reliable and have a strong attention to detail;
  • Work independently to make decisions based on the information provided

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; work in a cooler, walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly.
  • The associate must have full range of upper body motion in order to lift product. Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store and create attractive displays.
  • The position requires the associate to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Floral Clerk is an hourly position. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays within the individual's availability.
