Job Description :
The responsibility of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officer is to receive, process and respond to FOIA requests for public records, ensuring timely, accurate and legally compliant responses. This position will handle the review of documents, communication with requesters, and collaboration with other departments to facilitate the appropriate release of information in support of transparency, accountability and compliance with public information access laws. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in communications, public administration, records management, or a related field and three (3) to five (5) years of related FOIA, compliance and communications experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Thorough understanding of FOIA regulations to include the applicable definitions, time limits, requirements, exemptions and penalties.
