Job Description :
Essential Job Functions
- Develops and execute purchasing strategies to support the Company's business objectives.
- Negotiates with vendors for the best possible price and service guarantee.
- Researches and develop products for the Company to increase sales and revenue.
- Monitors and forecasts upcoming demand and develops new supply source if necessary.
- Reviews inventory and investigates discrepancies.
- Manages and develops food safety programs for hazard analysis, sanitation, recall, etc.
- Oversees quality control and ensures compliance with government food safety standards and regulations.
- Coordinates with purchasing employees in other locations to negotiate discounts for bulk purchases and optimizes efficiency.
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department and provides constructive and timely feedback, training, and coaching.
- Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Business level Japanese preferred
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience required
Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate mathematical knowledge – markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.
- Mentoring, coaching and people management skills
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
- Knowledge of Japanese foods and drinks highly preferred
