ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**Tipped Position

  • Quality control
  • Identifies all menu items for proper portion sizes, quality standards, and plate presentation.

    Uses a sense of urgency when coordinating food items to ensure ticket time standards.

    Ensures accurate plating of all food items by maintaining proper portions according to spec.

    Acts as final quality control between kitchen and guests by making sure all items meet Winking Lizard standards.

    Follows Winking Lizard take out procedures and ensures all take out orders are accurate.

    Ensures that baked potatoes are fresh and ready at designated times.

    Uses serving trays to preserve the appearance of food items.

    II. Expo/Food Runner shift responsibilities

    Sets up station according to station diagram or schematic.

    Practices and maintains sanitary and safe food handling procedures at all times.

    In addition to frequent hand washing, wears clean disposable gloves on both hands at all times when handling food.

    Removes gloves before delivering food to guests.

    Maintains a clean, sanitized, and organized expo window and surrounding area, sweeping floors throughout the shift and stocking all necessary supplies.

    Completes opening and closing checklists for every shift.

    Completes daily side work and cleaning projects.

    Assists servers and bussers during the shift by pre-bussing while running food.

    Makes certain all food items for guests and employees are rung in prior to items leaving the expo area.

    Responsible for completing cold line check and temperature log sheet for soups and chili every two hours.

    Maintains Aloha equipment by using the pads of fingers to ring in food items. Does not use pens, credit cards, and other miscellaneous items to ring in orders.

    Helps maintain great atmosphere by immediately informing a manager when a TV has a black screen or when a game ends.

    III. Projects positive image of self and Company

    Smiles and displays a positive attitude and is attentive to guests needs when delivering food.

    Maintains an excellent personal appearance by following Winking Lizard uniform guidelines and personal hygiene standards by being in a clean uniform prior to the start of each shift.

    Appropriate hair restraint worn at all times.

    Acts as the liaison between the front of house and the back of house when communicating problems or issues.

    Alerts appropriate server or manager when a customer has not been attended to.

    Presents all food items by name when delivering food to guests.

    Answers phone calls within two rings and follows proper Winking Lizard phone procedures.

    IV. Compliance to Winking Lizard standards, systems, procedures, and policies

    Maintains the Company expectations of performance and behavior in the restaurant as established in the Employee Handbook, Training Manual, Policy Manual, and Employee Guidelines.

    Maintains kitchen operations through zoning of product, controlling of waste, and restaurant security policies.

    Clocks in and out for breaks for 30 minutes in compliance with break procedures. Approves break through a manager prior to leaving the expo area.

    Responsible to wear non-slip shoes for every shift.

    Eats in a designated area of the restaurant away from food preparation areas. Does not eat or drink in guests view.

    Keeps personal belongings (coats, cell phones, purses, back packs, etc.) in a designated area approved by management.

    Must be reliable and punctual in reporting for work as scheduled.
