Food Pantry Worker$17/HourMon-Fri/occasional evening or weekend shiftHere is your chance to make a difference in your community. As a Food Pantry Worker you will assist with the intake, sorting, organization, and storage of food donations, ensuring the food bank is stocked and ready to provide nutritious meals to individuals and families in need. This role involves physical work, teamwork, and adherence to safety and hygiene protocols.Responsibilities:Accept and record food donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.Sort donated food by type (canned goods, dry goods, frozen items, fresh produce, etc.).Inspect food donations for safety, expiration dates, and packaging integrity.Stock shelves with food items in an organized, accessible manner.Ensure food items are rotated based on expiration dates (First-In-First-Out or FIFO method).Maintain organized storage areas, including refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage.Follow food safety standards and sanitation practices to prevent contamination.Keep storage and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.Regularly clean and sanitize food storage areas, equipment, and surfaces.Help prepare food orders for distribution to clients (may include packing boxes or bags).Assist clients with loading food into their vehicles as needed.Ensure that food is distributed equitably and according to established guidelines.Track inventory levels and notify management when stock is low or needs to be replenished.Assist with inventory audits and regular stock checks.Report any damaged, expired, or unusable food items to the supervisor.Work collaboratively with other food bank staff and volunteers.Help train new volunteers on stocking procedures and safety protocols.Participate in food bank events and campaigns as needed.Requirements:Ability to lift and carry boxes, bags, and other heavy items (up to 30-50 lbs.).Ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good interpersonal skills for working with other staff, volunteers, and clients.Ability to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.Compensation and Benefits:Paid every FridayDirect Deposit and/or Paycards AvailablePaid Holidays & PTO (Based on accrued hour requirements)Medical Coverage - Access to affordable and comprehensive group medical coverageFor more information, call or stop by our office today.Our job is to get YOU hired (and it's free!)209 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont MN (507)###-####Aventure Staffing is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
