Job Summary: The Food and Physical Safety Lead is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the implementation, adherence, and continuous improvement of both food safety and physical safety protocols for all segment units. This role requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management, and safety best practices to safeguard the well-being of our customers and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety Leadership:
    • Ensure proper compliance with corporate food safety programs as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Prepare units for health department and third-party audits and support any corrective action or continuous improvement tasks as needed.
    • Lead the development and delivery of food safety training programs for employees, ensuring proper handling, storage, and processing of food products.
    • Investigate food safety incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Physical Safety Leadership:
    • Ensure proper compliance with corporate physical safety programs to reduce workplace hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
    • Training Delivery Provide training on health and safety management topics to segment leadership & new managers on implementing safety programs.
    • Provide incident investigation, RCA and Corrective Action implementation support to sites.
    • Implement segment Safety Improvement Plans (SIP) in conjunction with segment leadership.
    • Field Support - Participate in hazard analysis & risk assessment for sites/Evaluate and support sites to control hazards.
    • Participate in Segment Incident Review Meetings.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and human resources, to ensure seamless integration of safety programs.
    • Monitor reports on food and physical safety performance metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
    • Attend client and operational meetings as and when required to support the effective implementation of work-based food and physical safety solutions.
    • Participate in food and physical safety due diligence before mergers & acquisitions in coordination with corporate safety team.
    • Assist segment with mobilization of new sites to achieve compliance with Elior's food and physical safety standards.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to food and physical safety.
    • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of safety programs and reduce risk.
    • Promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Food science, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food safety and physical safety roles, preferably in hospitality or food production environment.
    • Strong knowledge of HACCP, FDA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
    • Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe) and physical safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour) is required.

    Requirements:

    • Ability to work in a food production environment, including exposure to cold, heat, and other elements.
    • 25% Travel
