Food Prep Worker CBK Events - Geffner, 351 West 42nd St, New York, New York, United States of America Req #1198 Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Position: Food Prep Worker Program: CBK Events at Geffner House Salary: $20.50 per hour Overall Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Prep Cook will work as part of the City Beet Kitchens team to prepare meals and maintain kitchen cleanliness and standards. Program Description: City Beet Kitchens is a mission-based non-profit catering company. We were established in 1995 as Comfort Foods and rebranded in 2015 to City Beet Kitchens. We cater to large clients in the non-profit space (institutional division) as well as corporate and private events (events division), providing meals, snacks, boxed lunches and specific curated events (e.g. galas, weddings, etc.). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties of the Prep Cook include but are not limited to the following activities: + Assist the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in food preparation + Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and standards + Ensure food safety and sanitation practices are followed + Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed + Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items + Adhere to all health and safety regulations Qualifications: + 3 Years culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen + Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices + Excellent organizational skills + Ability to work in fast-paced environment + Attention to detail and creativity in food presentation + Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices + Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines + Ability to stand for extended periods of time All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
