Responsibilities:
- Direct, coordinate and plan facility daily activities to ensure production goals are met in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure standards of product quality, allergens, equipment and performance are maintained in order to maximize production.
- Make recommendations to upper management about service/purchase of equipment as needed.
- Develop and maintain department budget, monitor plant operating cost. Alert management of cost labor overages, make recommendations and implement solutions.
- Work together with Plant supervisors and leads to develop and maintain a positive employee relationship environment.
- Handle vacation approval, scheduling, training and grievances process.
- Work with Human Resources to hire, train, and appraise staff effectively.
- Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis in accordance with company policy.
- Manage production of over 30 lines and immediately take corrective action to assure quality and to ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures & policies.
- Assist in external auditing SQF-Safe Quality Food requirements including various customer / 3rd party audit expectations.
- Perform various other job functions as assigned like inventory and code management.
Requirements:
- 5 years minimum experience working in Food Manufacturing and Production
- Expert in all of Microsoft Office including Excel
- Knowledge of FDA, USDA Food and safety regulations and labeling knowledge
- Flexible to work different shifts.
- Excellent Organizational skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- BS/BA in Food Safety or related major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment
