We currently operate six high-tech greenhouse farms, with four new regional salad greenhouse hubs breaking ground to begin opening in 2024. BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest. The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is hiring a Food Safety & Quality Manager at our Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania greenhouse to lead the implementation of our food safety programs at the farm. Specifically, you will:

• Effectively and efficiently manage Production processes to ensure the quality of our product, consistency maintaining SQF requirements
• Collect routine EMP samples (water samples, swabs, product samples and media samples)
• Train and verify effectiveness of relevant food safety & quality programs to operators and leadership
• Oversee the sites pest control management system and conduct regular reviews of the system
• Lead site audits and inspections, both external (ex. SQF) and internal
• Support the farms in implementation of food safety regulations and policies
• Perform site GMP inspections and perform required drills & exercises
• Standardize best practices and creates forms necessary to collect KPIs
• Verify and review completion of food safety records
• Manage the farm's food safety plan
• Have a willingness and desire to assist in unrelated and/or unassigned tasks to ensure the effective operation of the Greenhouse
• Perform risk assessments and advise leadership on appropriate recommendations
• Lead corrective action efforts in identifying RCA and effectively implementing CAPA's
• Work cross functionally to safely implement new processes, programs and equipment
• Build and support a strong food safety culture
• Complete other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate:

• 4-year degree in a related discipline
• 5-8 years of experience in a production environment or related work experience
• Can create SOPs, forms, policies and food safety plans to meet relevant regulations such as FDA and GFSI
• Be detail oriented and data driven (experience with data bases is a plus!)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Be a self-starter and a problem solver with strong relationship building and communication skills
• Ability to navigate a dynamic and quickly evolving environment
• Exhibit excellent critical thinking skills, leadership skills, lead by example - set the highest possible standards for food safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and behavior

Working conditions / Environment / Travel / Schedule required

• Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking/standing for many hours, working in cold conditions (coolers) and warm environments (greenhouse)
