ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop SQF Procedures and ensure compliance to those procedures, including direct observations of designated programs on a scheduled basis.
- Ensures compliance to and audits preventative controls plans and prerequisite programs.
- Performs GMP and internal quality audits.
- Assist in coordinating and participating in 3rd party and 2nd party audits, including customer, governmental, contractor, and designated inspections, as required.
- Implement, maintain and improve the SQF program through partnership with cross-functional groups.
- Controls customer complaint process, internal non-conformances and vendor deviations while assuring correction actions are administered.
- Conducts SQF program assessment on a scheduled basis with management team to notify of deviations, corrective actions and progress within designated programs.
- Train and interact with employees on SQF procedures; ensuring compliance throughout the organization.
- Formulate, interpret and implement company policies.
- Evaluate food safety concerns in facility and implement programs to eliminate hazards, based on analysis.
- Management of Redzone activities including updates, revisions, and documentation creation.
- As requested, provide food safety training and/or resources to ensure employees know how to handle food safely and attend trainings
- Comply with food safety practices and all applicable requirements as they pertain to SQF and that are maintained
- Ensure employees are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities
- Ensure employees are positively encouraged and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
- Ensure employees are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work
- Support company driven food safety improvement initiatives

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to work overtime as needed with or without notice
EDUCATION / TRAINING
- B.S. in Food Science, Science, or technical discipline. (or equivalent experience)
RELATED EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
- 3 Years Food Science, Quality Assurance or related experience. Results oriented and strong attention to detail. Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment required. Additionally includes, but not limited to the below:
- Experience with PCQI, SQF or equivalent systems (certification preferred)
- Previous experience in food manufacturing
- Ability to affect change through indirect leadership
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in computer usage (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to write SOPs and work instruct

- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Carry out root cause analysis and drive sustained improvement at the production level.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Occasionally, employee may need to work in an environment that is cool, wet, and noisy with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $50,000/year to $80,000/year.
