Food Safety Manager - Judge Direct Placement : Job Details

Judge Direct Placement is seeking a Food Safety Manager in Las Vegas, NV to provide food safety leadership for a large distribution center!

Responsibilities:

• Ensures reduction of quality and safety liabilities and risks
• Implements and develops technical plans which clearly define critical issues
• Ensures that products adhere to food quality and safety requirements through product audits and follow-up with corrective action
• Manages and develops auditing system by working with the internal HACCP Coordinator and external auditing companies
• Ensures that all GMP's, SSOP's and HACCP plans are followed
• Documents and addresses any deficiencies in a timely manner and takes preventive measures to ensure there is no re-occurrence
• Works closely with USDA, production management and maintenance department to address any issues
• Implements a process of maximizing and improving efficiency of the Quality Assurance Technicians
• Prepares reports that track identifiable trends and issues for management and develop corrective actions
• Trains employees on animal welfare, food safety, product quality requirements and product specifications
• Represents the QA/Food Safety Department in meetings with outside contractors
• Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+years experience in distribution or manufacturing setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical skills
• Any GFSI experience
• Any experience with USDA food safety, FDA or State food safety and sanitation inspections, FSMA and HACCP regulations, and Pest Control
• Any experience with Food Safety Leadership
• Any FDA Preventive Controls Training (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
