Your role RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES: •Responsible for implementation and compliance to Food Safety Quality Management System policies and procedures •Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of the Food Safety Plans (HACCP) program for the facility oAnalysis of results for verification activities oUpdate Flowchart and Hazard Analysis oImplement, maintain CCPs and PRPs in the department oTrain team to CCPs and PRPs •Responsible for prompt investigation resolution, escalation and trending for plant events. Providing appropriate CAPA. •Analyze complaint and product data to identify trends and opportunities and drive continuous improvement •Manage non-conformities (decide, put on hold, isolate, destruct), analyze for root causes and undertake correctives actions •Leads the quality and product safety components of all FSQ driven projects for the site through quality planning, specifications development, and project oversight for compliance to GMP s and other company policies and guidelines •Responsible for GFSI and other standard compliance across for the facility •Responsible for implementation and compliance to all federal, state or provincial laws and/or regulations. •Responsible to monitor plant trials and/or first production of new products to provide plant guidance on food safety and quality and make any updates to the Food Safety Plan/HACCP as appropriate. Management •Develop & Manage FSQ department associates by providing tools, expertise, training and mentoring to support production and testing laboratory •Manage product specifications for facility and ensure product conformity to defined specifications •Manage within budgeted costs and participate in development of FSQ operating budget for the facility •Manage/Lead all site FSQ Audits (Internal and External) •Provide day-to-day support for all quality needs for the plant •Monitor, track and report on pertinent KPI's •Manage any potential PRIMP's and customer complaints Customer and Cross Functional Relationships •Educates cross functional team and plant associates on Food Safety/Quality regulations and policies. •Actively leads and/or co-leads work with operations management and other functions to problems solve and resolve issues together for continuous improvement. •Guides the cross-function team to commercial success through maintenance of food safety standards and food regulatory compliance requirements while balancing business needs. About you •3-5 years (depending on site location) Food Safety Quality management experience with responsibility for developing, implementing and managing food safety programs and policy. •BS degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related technical field required •Technical expert with FDA (FSMA) requirements and food safety systems. oFSMA/Preventive Controls oFood Safety Plan/HACCP design, measurement, documentation and training. •PCQI/HACCP certified •Deep understanding of food safety quality systems and programs (GFSI), certification preferred •Technical expert in quality analysis, sanitation, processing techniques and general microbiology. •Excellent communication skills in person, email, telephone and online meeting format •Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
