Responsibilities:

Job Description Summary

Lead the development of new products across Eagle Foods categories- Baking, Snacks and Meal Solutions, focusing on the Meals category. You will be responsible for developing and refining meal solutions, including but not limited to Hamburger Helper. At Eagle Foods, we believe that our culture, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit are the keys to our success. Conduct experiments, gather data, develop preliminary findings, and prepare written reports for the development of Eagle Foods products and technology. You will formulate new products to meet consumer preferences and reformulate existing products to improve quality and/or margins. The Food Scientist will drive project timelines, create technical proposals, and make recommendations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Leverage technical expertise and critical thinking skills to develop new products beginning at the concept phase through successful commercialization, particularly in the Meals category
  • Work with cross-functional partners to investigate technical projects to resolve formulation and processing challenges/improvement areas
  • Design and conduct plant trials and new product start-ups
  • Plan, prioritize and complete tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Creates product development schedules that are required to meet project timelines
  • Maintain accurate and complete records
  • Create and build product specifications
  • Design and execute experiments and prepare results for review
  • Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes, with an emphasis on meal solutions
  • Manages individual tasks and works under limited supervision
  • Drive product cuttings, plant trials, and testing
  • Collaborate closely with team members and other departments, contributing to a culture of innovation and shared success
  • Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices as stated within the policy
  • Follows all Safety rules & procedures by working safely and ensuring safety of others
  • Follows all food safety procedures
  • Follows all environmental protocols as applicable

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field. Advanced degrees a plus.
  • At least 3 years of applicable experience required
  • Experience in dry blending a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite in addition to knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated problem solving, time management and priority setting skills
  • Working knowledge HAACP and GMP principle
