DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:Assist in meal preparation, service and clean-up while providing a safe environment by maintaining the kitchen and cafeteria areas in compliance with federal, state, local and accreditation / licensing standards. Assist the Food Service Manager in supervising students participating in vocational training. Activities include, but are not limited to, preparing and serving meals, catering, washing dishes, kitchen clean-up, and following cleaning schedule.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Compliance:
Assure that all client environments are in compliance with minimum standardsMaintain the kitchen and cafeteria areas in compliance with federal, state, local and accreditation / licensing standardsMaintain client safety guidelinesAssure that clients are free from neglect, abuse, and/or exploitationReport allegations of neglect and abuse to TDFPS and/or Executive Director or his designeeMaintain client confidentialityAssure that all clients are properly supervised and cared for according to BAC PolicyAdhere to employee rules and company policyReport concerns to a supervisorRelay information to supervisor and / or appropriate staffFollow through with supervisor requests / assignmentsEnsure that BAC is a harassment-free work placeKitchen Activities:
Maintain current Food Handler's CardMaintain kitchen and cafeteria areas in compliance with policies and standardsPrepare and serve hot food line and salad bar including drinksEnsure that client specific meals are prepared in compliance with ordersEnsure that meals are served on timeWash dishesFollow cleaning schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.)Ensure that all dangerous materials / equipment and chemicals are kept from client access (i.e. keeping knives locked, closing half door when utilizing dangerous equipment or when clients are present, etc.)Supervise vocational students as they assist in the kitchenOversee meal preparation and kitchen activities in the absence of the Food Service ManagerStock, restock and notify Food Service Manager of need for maintaining inventoryAttitude:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Working in the kitchen standing the majority of the day
- At times preparing / serving meals outdoors during special occasions

- Clients may exhibit self-injurious or aggressive behaviors
