Food Service Helper / Substitute Food Service Helper 2024-2025 - Wappingers Central School District : Job Details

+ Assists cooks in phases of food preparation involving lesser degrees of skill than those of Cook or Assistant Cook.+ Assists in the preparation of salads and desserts.+ Cleans, washes, and otherwise prepares vegetables and fruits for cooking.+ Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine.+ Cleans kitchen or dining areas.+ Cleans work areas and equipment such as counters, trays, tray carts, hot food tables, coffee urns, toasters, etc.+ Handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitary practices.+ Fills sugar bowls and salt and pepper shakers.+ Attends inservice training sessions.+ May assemble items for bag lunches.+ May set tables and clear them after meals.+ May act as cashier.+ Does related work as required.Upon completion of the hiring process, including all mandatory paperwork, candidates for all substitute positions must receive WCSD Board approval as a WCSD substitute prior to starting assignment date.Job QualificationsHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferredFingerprint clearance through NYS TEACH (NYSED) ( is required (Applicant for Employee)Application Deadline:06/30/2025Civil Service Title: Food Service Helper
