The Residential Dining Hall Manager will oversee the daily operations of a vibrant and dynamic dining hall while ensuring an exceptional guest experience for students, faculty, and staff. Job ResponsibilitiesLead efforts to enhance the overall dining experience, focusing on guest satisfaction, engagement, and feedback.
Monitor dining hall ambiance and ensure it meets guest expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
Develop and implement strategies to encourage positive interactions with guests, ensuring they feel valued and heard.
Address and resolve any guest concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner, striving to exceed expectations.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the dining hall, including food service, staffing, and the guest experience.
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations, quality control standards, and proper sanitation practices.
Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service, with a focus on variety, nutritional value, and dietary needs.
Maintain smooth operations during peak dining periods, adjusting staffing levels and resources as needed.
Lead and mentor dining hall staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Provide training on customer service, guest relations, and dining etiquette, ensuring team members deliver a consistently high standard of service.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3+ years of experience in food service management, ideally in a higher education or residential setting.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a strong guest-focused attitude.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to guest service.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Passion for hospitality, dining, and creating memorable experiences for guests.
Working Conditions:
The position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on dining hall hours and special events.
Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
