EASTCONN's Food Services department was created in 2012 to meet our external and internal customers' demand for exceptional food services. Backed by our experienced Food Service Coordinator, Courntey Haines, EASTCONN is able to provide a wide array of catering services, a successful National SchoolLunch Program, a School Breakfast Program and an After-School Snack Program and provide the districts with necessary supports for their food service programs.To learn more about our program, click here .Job Title: Food Service/Cafeteria WorkerHours: Part TimeDepartment: EASTCONN Food ServicesReports to: Coordinator of Food ServicesJOB DESCRIPTION:The job of the Food Service Worker was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the food service activities with specific responsibilities for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel, operating the cash registers and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Performs a variety of tasks concerned with the preparation and serving of foodsClean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverwareWashes, peels, scrapes, and cuts vegetables and fruitsDishes out portions of foods on traysScrapes, washes and sorts dishes, glassware, and silverwareCleans kitchen equipment, pots and pans, counters, and tablesSweeps and mops floorsStore food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilagePlace food trays over food warmers for immediate service, or store them in refrigerated storage cabinetsInform supervisors when supplies are getting low or equipment is not working properlyOperate P.O.S. computerDelivering and serving meals at satelite locationsRequired for appointment:EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years Food Service experience preferred. Experience with National School Lunch program and CACFP preferred. ServSafe Certified preferred. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
