If the position is not filled by then, we may consider applications submitted after the deadline.About this job:Serves as a substitute food service worker across District schools, preparing and serving school meals in accordance with food and safety standards.What DPS Offers You:* A Culture that values Equity, Accountability, Integrity, Collaboration and Fun with a shared vision that Every Student Will Succeed.* Competitive Salary $20.00/ hour* In addition to competitive compensation, DPS has other Total Reward offerings such as;time off,health and wellness benefits,and PERA Retirement.What You'll Do:* Prepares or assists in the preparation of a variety of foods in accordance with food and safety standards.* Washes, cuts, cooks and or re-heats food items, weighing and measuring ingredients, according to recipes and instructions.* Sets up serving lines and serves meal or meal components.* Communicates with students and school staff when serving food items.* Operates the cash register, accepting money and making change for food and beverages served.* Cleans and sanitizes dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment and facilities in accordance with approved housekeeping and safety practices and guidelines; performs related kitchen and facility related duties (e.g., laundry, general cleaning).* Operates kitchen equipment.* Stocks and organizes food related items and kitchen supplies in refrigerators, freezers, walk-in coolers, and store rooms; stores food and supplies in accordance with instructions and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).* Follows approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that safe conditions are maintained in the kitchen, food-serving areas and in dining.What You'll Need:* High School Diploma preferred.* Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
