Salary: $41.05 - $52.97 HourlyLocation : Greenwich, CTJob Type: Full TimeJob Number: 24-25-00122Department: BOARD OF EDUCATIONOpening Date: 11/12/2024Closing Date: 11/26/2024 4:00 PM EasternGeneral Statement of Duties Oversees food service operations for middle and elementary schools, ensuring quality control and efficient operation of food service programs.Qualifications Education and Experience: Associates Degree in Hospitality Management from accredited college, plus four (4) years of experience managing food service operations, including two years in a supervisory role. Experience in educational food service or other large-scale food production is preferred.Licenses and Certifications: Food Protection Certification Program within three (3) months of hire. Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of food service operations including staffing, equipment, supplies and preparation.Demonstrated knowledge of food storage and delivery methods. Proven ability to supervise employees.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, administrators, staff, and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records, estimate food quantities, order supplies, and maintain inventory control.Demonstrated proficiency in the operation of a personal computer and related software applications, including debit card systems.Ability to perform physical aspects of position including ability to climb a ladder, lift, stack and re-arrange items weighing up to 50 lbs each, in walk-in freezers, walk-in refrigerators and storerooms. Demonstrated ability to safely operate food services equipment including but not limited to convection oven, range, steam kettle, steam cooker, mixer, slicer, and serving line equipment. Valid Driver's License.Examination: 100% Training & Experience Assessment The examination to determine a candidate's eligibility for the position will be a Training and Experience Assessment. Once the Eligibility List is prepared no further information may be submitted and no adjustments will be made.Job DescriptionDepartment: Board of Education Division: Food Service Bargaining Status: LIUNA Salary Range: L-EFLSA Status: ExemptReports to: Director of Food ServicesDuties and Responsibilities:Manages food service activities at assigned locations, ensuring compliance with USDA and state regulations, health department standards, and internal food service policies. Supervises kitchen staff at the elementary and middle schools.Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs. Develops nutritious and budget-friendly menus, considering customer preferences, while meeting federal standards.Monitors food and supply orders for schools and catering events in compliance with established purchasing and inventory procedures.Oversees food preparation and service processes, ensuring the use of standardized recipes, portion control, food presentation, and quality standards.Enforces sanitation and housekeeping schedules in compliance with health and safety standards.Oversees the daily cash counting process to ensure accuracy and to monitor and report any discrepancies.Oversees the secure transportation of cash to the bank, following all safety protocols.Documents the number of meals prepared and served daily as required by federal regulations. Recruits, trains and evaluates food service personnel, recommending staffing changes as needed. Evaluates the quality of vendors and suppliers work and products and recommends new products and equipment as needed.Performs related work as assigned.Supports Town policies and philosophies.
