Core Job Responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for foodservice and beverage products.
* Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
* Set clear category objectives and goals aligned with the company's overall business strategy.
* Product Selection and Management.
* Curate and manage a diverse and appealing product assortment for the foodservice and beverage categories.
* Work closely with suppliers to source high-quality, innovative products that meet customer preferences and demand.
* Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize the product mix.
* Supplier Relations and Negotiations.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure favorable agreements and cost efficiencies.
* Collaborate with suppliers to develop promotional activities and marketing initiatives.
* Merchandising and Promotion.
* Develop and execute effective merchandising plans to maximize product visibility and sales.
* Design and implement in-store displays and promotional materials to enhance the customer shopping experience.
* Coordinate with marketing and store operations teams to ensure successful execution of promotions and events.
* Sales and Performance Analysis.
* Analyze sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure category performance.
* Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to drive sales and profitability.
* Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on category performance and strategic initiatives.
* Cross-functional Collaboration.
* Work closely with the procurement, marketing, store operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless category management.
* Provide training and support to store staff on product knowledge, merchandising, and sales techniques.
* Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive overall business success.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, preferably in the foodservice or retail industry.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and category management software.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
