RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises employees in the MOT crew department
- Complete company required or regulatory documents such as DRA, JHA, Weekly Jobsite Inspection sheet, timesheets, etc.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach craft personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements
- Direct work of assigned crew to meet daily schedule
- Understand production schedule and adjust daily work to meet schedule
- Perform daily forecast of crew cost and production rate and report to Superintendent as required
- Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials and equipment
- Request material needed for scope of work
- Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications
- Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for craft personnel and subcontractors
- Present safety topics at meeting when required
- Knowledge and understanding of local union or prevailing wage rules
- Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
- Coordinate sub-contractors onsite
- Support published corporate policies
- Perform additional assignments per management's direction
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have highway and TxDOT experience.
- Equipment management experience.
- Experience managing subcontractors.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to deal with problems involving several concrete variables
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Availability and willingness to work weekends and night shifts per business needs.
