Job Description :

Job Summary: A Foreman manages large crews (10+ crewmembers) with multiple projects and leads all aspects of telecommunication installations including, the installation of low-voltage cables, setting up electronic equipment and communication devices. This includes the physical installation of cabling, overseeing the work of others, surveying work sites to determine the best installation practices, coordinating workflow within the unit, acting as company liaison, and providing on-the-job training to other technicians as needed. May take on a leadership role for smaller projects or collaborate with the on-site Project Manager for larger-scale installations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Ensure that required tools are on-site and work with staff and train on the job.

* Report to Field Superintendent or Project Manager daily on updates of job. (Stop point of the day, problem areas, staff morale, etc.)

* Run projects with LEAN Construction ideology

* Plan out the project with schedule from customer GC, EC, or end-user) prioritize tasks

* Keep and maintain daily delay log/review all employee timesheets and initial daily.

* Follow up with Leads and techs to make sure items are properly completed then do a review of these items

* Supervise the tracking of all on-site inventory and materials.

* Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per the deliverable timelines

* Training crew members on proper safety/quality standards.

* Verify that the crew members have proper certifications and skillsets to perform the scope of work

* Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies as needed.

* Submit daily reports on-site progress with any potential schedule delays and or needed / missing material

* Properly explain the importance of safety and professionalism toward optimal job performance to the field daily

* Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards, and best practices.

* Implement the job plan and scope of work as well as perform retrofits and upgrades for existing infrastructure.

* Learn and adhere to all required safety standards

* Knowledge of industry-standard color codes and terminations

* Able to project manpower and material up to 4 weeks out per construction schedules

* Manage Task Tracker input and labor hours on projects

* Proofread all documents and scope and review plans within 1 week of job start

* Follow company protocol for all aspects of the job including employee write up

* Maintains a clean & organized work environment.

* Professional dressed per KANE policies

* Provide transportation to and from work sites

* Ensure compliance with all Department Standards, Policies & Procedures

* Properly explain the importance of safety and professionalism toward optimal job performance

* Determine pathways, spaces, bonding, and grounding and firestopping with Project Lead/PM

* Make decisions and give direction based on applicable codes, standards, and best practices.

* Some travel may be requested

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Must have qualifications of Lead Technician (see Lead Technician job description) and pass the internal test

* Must have basic computer skills to implement data on internal applications (Excel, Microsoft Office, System Software, etc.)

* Installer Certification from one or more manufacturers (i.e., Leviton, Berk-Tek, SYSTIMAX, Ortronics, Panduit, etc.)

* Low-voltage electrical license or Systems Installer certification from Telecommunication/Broadcast industry organizations such as BICSI, InfoComm, NSCA, SCTE, etc. is preferred

* Knowledge of industry-standard color codes and terminations

* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

* Basic smartphone and tablet functions

* Basic Office 365 software (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

* Basic Smartsheet Knowledge

* Must be OSHA 30 Certified

Education and Experience:

* 5 Years of Low Voltage Installation Experience in Commercial Construction

* High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

* Certifications and/or licenses (list only if required or preferred; should be relevant to the position).

* Must have a valid, clean driver's license

* Must pass a drug screen, extensive background check, and I9 screening

Physical Requirements:

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
