Join our team within the Southern Timberlands Business, operating in the Mississippi-Alabama Region. As a Planning Forester, you'll report directly to the region Planning Manager. This opportunity is a full-time, exempt role located in Thomasville, Alabama. Key Functions Plan annual and 3 to 5-year fee harvest plans aligning with silvicultural and harvest strategies. Champion safety and risk awareness, intervening in unsafe practices, and modeling safety for others. Demonstrate expertise in timber management techniques, including: Validating harvest candidates Crafting prescriptions Addressing environmental concerns Marking stream boundaries Cruising Manage SFI-related constraints, such as opening size and adjacency. Spend a significant portion of time in the woods. Manage yearly contract budgets. Foster communication between marketing, harvesting, and silviculture foresters.
