Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of forklift driving experience
- The aptitude for processing paperwork.
- Regularly lift or move 25 lbs., frequently up to 40 lbs., and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of product identification
- Maintain a positive customer service image during interactions
- High level of accuracy in completing various job tasks
- Ability to develop and maintain supportive working relationships with colleagues
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret safety rules, policies, and manuals
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Problem-solving skills to handle varied situations with limited standardization and interpret diverse instructions in different formats
Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to and promote the Company's safety rules and policies.
- Maintain a safe, orderly, and clean work area throughout the plant.
- Participate in Lean Six Sigma initiatives by volunteering for projects and promoting the company's safety program by following all regulations.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge by accurately recognizing sizes, colors, and gauges.
- Ensure equipment and work areas are clean and free of debris on a daily basis.
- Perform cycle counts for inventory control in an accurate and timely manner.
- Read work orders or follow oral instructions to identify materials or containers to be moved and open containers as needed.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, racks, machines, and shelves using manual and forklift methods, while rotating stock using a first-in, first-out system.
- Unload materials from vehicles.
- Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on the daily production sheet.
- Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band them together.
- Lift objects using manual, or power equipment as required.
- Complete daily service checks on all vehicles used and report any issues immediately.
- Operate industrial trucks and hand trucks safely and efficiently at all times.
Education: This position requires a high school/GED diploma, or the equivalent in work experience. Position Details
