Purpose: The Forklift Maintenance Technician is responsible daily maintenance and repairs of Barrett Petfoods fleet of forklifts, assuring efficiency, and safety for our team.

Responsibilities:

• Accepts repair orders as assigned by Maintenance Director
• Reads work orders, observes and listens to lift in operation to determine/diagnose malfunction or problem(s)
• Offers solutions to management for electric and propane forklifts.
• Provides estimates when appropriate.
• Repair, service, recondition or assemble equipment as approved by the maintenance manager.
• Obtains necessary parts working cooperatively with maintenance manager · Makes mechanical repairs to equipment after a complete inspection and analysis of breakdown has been completed.
• Records complete repair description on work order, including correct model and serial number of equipment and records hour meter reading.
• Examines protective guards, loose bolts, specified safety devices on truck and makes adjustments.
• Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired truck to verify conformance to specifications.
• Maintains and operates shop equipment and tools.
• Performs quality work as quickly and professional as possible.

Requirements:

• Maintain equipment & practice preventative maintenance.
• Production support, familiar with production equipment
• Understand Lock-Out-Tag-Out
• Electrically incline/understanding single & 3 phase.
• Safely handle power tool
• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to obtain Fork/Truck license.
• Welding experience is helpful but not required.
• Follow GMP's and safety protocols.
• Great trouble-shooting skills
• Computer literate, team player and communicates well with group/shift.

Hours:

• Monday - Friday - 8am - 4:30pm with occasional evening/weekend work as business needs arise.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $26.50 per hour
