Forklift Operator - Terrica Corporation : Job Details

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating a 35,000 lbs. sit-down forklift, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. This role requires a dedicated individual who can handle the responsibilities of maneuvering forklifts safely in a busy environment, managing inventory, and ensuring the safe stacking and unstacking of materials. Roles & Responsibilities 1. Operate a 35,000 lbs. sit-down forklift with proficiency and safety. 2. Maneuver forklifts safely in a busy environment, adhering to safety protocols. 3. Safely stack and unstack large quantities of goods. 4. Unload building materials for assembly to storage areas and/or load onto trucks for transport. 5. Load and unload flatbed and other types of trailers. 6. Ensure that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions. 7. Regularly check forklift equipment for faults or damage and report any issues promptly. 8. Keep up to date with health and safety requirements and forklift operating procedures. 9. Work effectively in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind. 10. Ability to operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently in a high-traffic environment. 11. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Education & Experience • Minimum of 3 years of forklift operation experience, with certification for operating forklifts of 12k lbs or larger preferred. • At least 1 year of warehouse experience. • Experience with inventory management software a plus. • Proven experience in stacking/unstacking materials. Specific Skills • Proficient in safely operating forklifts, jib cranes, hoists, and overhead cranes to move and position materials. • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and possess manual dexterity for handling various materials. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with managers, customers, and team members. • Maintain flexible availability to accommodate varying work schedules and demands. Working Conditions • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy materials.
