What you'll do: The Forklift Operator drives a forklift to safely moveprocessed steel, stock, or other materials to and from trucks, storage, machines,and finished goods areas. Operate forklift to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and within other areas of assignment Load, transport, unload, and stack materials in accordance with established procedures Maintain up-to-date forklift certification Communicate non-compliance and/or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead Clean and maintain housekeeping of finished goods storage area What you need to be successful: Ability to inspect the forklift using the forklift checklist to ensure proper operation and safety compliance of the vehicle prior to daily operation Ability to safely accurately select and load material properly to meet customer and production requirements Ability to communicate effectively Ability to read and understand material tags and work orders Ability to use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements Knowledge of and ability to comply with forklift training
