Job purpose
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise; accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform product handler duties; promote and implement the company's core values and excellence in customer service; responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal customers. The standard hours for the Forklift Operator are 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Duties and responsibilities
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or handcart.
- Use radio equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required.
- Maintain the company's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.

Qualifications
- A high school diploma and/or equivalent experience
- Computer skills desired for operating warehouse management system (WMS)
- 1-2 years of forklift experience, preferred
- Possess a current and valid forklift certification
- Must have the ability to meet warehouse deadlines
Physical requirements
- Sitting, Standing, Walking
- Heavy lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
- Exposure to varied temperatures within warehouse environment
- Work inside and outside; work around machinery with moving parts and vehicles
- Carrying, pushing, pulling boxes and items; up to 75-100 lbs, at times..
The successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
