Responsibilities of the Position Include: - Report directly to the MP&L Supervisor.
- When necessary, be able to perform any MP&L staff responsibilities.
- Operate forklift to move material to storage areas and maintain an organized layout.
- Utilize tape measures to take accurate measurements of material.
- Ensure material is properly identified and logged into E2 for proper tracking and accounting for material.
- Perform physical inventory verifications of material on hand.
- Perform and log daily equipment inspections.
- Report any faulty equipment, damage, or other potential safety hazards.
- Move hazardous materials
- Required to assist in annual physical inventory verifications.
- Coordinate material pulls for the processing department.
- Consult and coordinate with direct supervision and shop floor supervision concerning material movements
- Use radio frequency equipment as needed to coordinate movement of materials.
- Comply with OSHA Standards
- Attend certification refresher courses.
- Support in keeping the facility a clean, organized, and safe environment.
- Maintain a respectful and professional approach to communicating with others.
- Follow and enforce all company policies, including safety rules and quality standards.
- Provide necessary manufacturing support as required to meet production output requirements.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements: - Preferred 1-3 years of experience in a steel fabrication facility.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic mathematics knowledge.
- Ability to read tape measure and measurement tools.
- Frequently lift, up to 50 pounds, and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
- Having a good sense of balance
- Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
- Regularly sitting on a powered, industrial truck
