Here is your chance to join the Crown Beverage Division.Location:Mankato, MNPosition overview:Starting pay is $24.8885 per hour and an additional 5% shift differential for night shift. Our Mankato Plant is growing! The Forklift Operator has primary responsibility to load, unload, store and deliver coils, in-process supplies, materials and finished product. This position's schedule aligns with our continuous operating schedule and works a 4 day on 4 day off 12 hour shift schedule. Shift times are 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am.Duties And Responsibilities:Reporting directly to Supervisor, Forklift Operator responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Service Production/Shipping areas with materials, supplies as needed. Move materials and finished product from location to location in departments as neededComplete all required forms, spoilage, shipping reports, etc.Store ends, plates, pallets, etc. by specificationCollect, weigh and record scrap and dispose of in designated containersPerform forklift inspections and report any issues to SupervisorMaintain proper housekeeping and safety - keep work area cleanStore materials in the proper placesWrap and load pallets as requiredMaintain/organize warehouseSafely and efficiently operate a variety of tools to complete jobs accurately and to specificationsPerform spot checks on equipment to ensure proper working condition; service tools and equipment as needed and return damaged items for repair or replacementPerform visual inspection of all pallets/materials, remove, replace and/or repair defective or damaged finished goods and/or materials prior to loading trucksPalletize and band spoilageFollows standard safety precautions; adheres to operators' instructions when using power tools; wears recommended protective equipmentTrains to support shipping dock when necessaryPosition dock loading plate for unloading or loading materials when necessaryUnload and load materials from the truck when necessaryPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedQualifications:In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:Minimum RequirementsPrevious forklift experience requiredMust be able to drive a 30,000 lb capacity forklift and maintain certificationMust understand and follow plant quality proceduresCompetenciesMechanical CapacityTechnical CapacityProblem Solving/AnalysisStrategic ThinkingPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand; walk; bend, stoop, use hands, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsThe employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smellSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusWorking ConditionsWill be required to perform job duties in a factory setting.While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficThe noise level is very loud.
