Together we can build healthier communities.Our Foster Care Specialists work with children and adolescents within the foster care system to ensure that their physical, emotional, psychological, and educational needs are met. This includes administrative duties such as developing support plans, as well as one-on-one interaction with children and their foster parents/ families; conducting assessments and interviews to confirm that children are in safe, nurturing environments; facilitating home visits when appropriate; attending court hearings and school meetings on behalf of the children within their caseloads. FCS's also provide required documentation and to ensure timely reporting and contractual requirements are met.We're hiring:
- Starting pay rate is $20 - 22/hour. Foster Care Specialist at Guardian Light Family Services (GLFS)
- GLFS also pays an additional $3/hour pay rate differential when working with clients on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Mileage reimbursement when working with clients
- We provide 40+ hours of paid/invested training (which include job shadows, supervisor support, training and support), which occur in your first 60 days.

Requirements
- Employees must provide their own: 1) reliable personal vehicle to travel/transport up to 3-4 kids as part of their daily work. GLFS provides car seats if required, paid drive time and mileage when working with clients 2) cell phone, internet service, computer/ipad/tablet (optional but highly encouraged) with daily access to work email and GLFS Computer Systems.
- Must have a minimum Bachelor's degree in the human services field and 2 years of full-time equivalent child welfare programming (Preferred)
- Timeliness and streamlined communication.
