The Foster Care Training Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing a training curriculum for Foster Care Case Managers and provide support to newly licensed Foster Care Case Managers. This position reports to the Lead Foster Care Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Develop a training curriculum which is then used to train Foster Care Case Managers to further their skill set.

* Provide in office/classroom and one on one training for Foster Care Case Managers.

* Provide field support to enhance the transfer of learning from the classroom to field operations, including attending ACR's and court hearings with Foster Care Case Managers.

* Develop ongoing training programs and monitoring systems to support and enhance job capabilities of all foster care case managers based on foster care case manager needs.

* Provide training and support for Foster Care Case Managers as identified by the Foster Care Supervisor.

* Develop ongoing training programs and monitoring systems to support and enhance job capabilities of all foster care case managers based on foster care case manager needs and DCFS requirements

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related human services field required, Master's Degree in Social Work or related human services field preferred. Two years' experience in providing foster care services. Understand and can demonstrate the capacity to coach and train others.
