Franchise Business Consultant - Waxing the City

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our talented Waxing the City team as a Franchise Business Consultant for the Northeast Region. NOTE: States in the Northeast Region - MA, DC, NY, NJ, CT, PA, VA. Preference is that the candidate will live in one of these states.
Job Summary:
As a Franchise Business Consultant, your work will directly impact the success of the enterprise by influencing the performance and profitability of each Waxing the City Franchisee in your territory. You will assist Franchisees by providing a wide range of consulting and development services, developing and facilitating strategic initiatives to promote sales growth and profitability, and ensuring consistency through education and guidance on in-studio and multi-unit operations. Successful consultants will leverage their industry and business development experience to assess current performance, identify areas of opportunity, recommend solutions based upon best practices, develop an action plan, and follow up to encourage follow-through.
The Franchise Business Consultant reports to the Director of Franchise Support and is based geographically within their territory. This position will provide service across multiple states and communities, and thus will require up to 70% travel within and outside of their assigned geographical territory. When not traveling, this position will work from a remote home office.
Purpose/Impact (Duties & Essential Functions)
Operations:
- Weekly/Monthly review of territory performance results by Franchisee
- Assess and determine performance gaps, opportunities and operational needs for Franchisees
- Provide related recommendations, training, follow-up and general assistance to Franchisees
- Establish action plans to assist Franchisees in achieving growth potential
- Provide written follow-up after each visit and ongoing to ensure execution of action plan(s)
- Monitor operational standards and report unacceptable performance to Franchisees, as well as corporate staff, if necessary
- Review local level results and adoption of Waxing the City initiatives and create action plans to improve consistency in implementation
- Provide front line/Franchisee perspective in the identification and development of new initiatives, communication, and training, and to define and solve Franchisee challenges
- Act as the liaison between Franchisees and Corporate, ensuring effective flow of communication
- Willing to put the needs of the business ahead of one's own needs when absolutely necessary
Facilitated Development:
- Work to recommend customized training programs based on the knowledge of the Franchisees studio operations, management training practices, and staff development needs.
- Motivated to take a leading role in developing components of support systems, or systems in their entirety, for their portfolio and for the enterprise
- Advance multi-unit growth and performance optimization with franchise partners

- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a multi-unit retail/service or franchise environment

- Must be flexible and have excellent problem-solving, time management, and administrative skills
- Ability to learn quickly and easily adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Capacity to remain calm when challenged, and uphold professionalism in working through conflict
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills (phone, email, in person and presentation)
- Ability to think creatively, and to be a driven and self-motivated contributor
- Must complete other tasks and projects as assigned by leadership
- Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Ability to travel up to 70%.
- Valid driver's license and Passport
Preferred Strengths and Background:
- 3+ years in multi-unit leadership, franchise business consultant role, or as a small business owner
- A bachelor's degree in business, service, finance, or related
- Experience in the salon/spa/waxing industry
- Cosmetology or Esthetics license
