The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel is looking for a Front Desk Agent to serve as our guests first point of contact by giving them a warm welcome and ensuring they have a comfortable stay. If you have a natural passion for delivering exceptional service, enjoy solving problems, and are comfortable using a computer to check guests in and out this may be the role for you. Prior hotel experience is not required, but a friendly and positive attitude is necessary. This position is full time, seasonal with potential for year round employment.
**Pay Range:** $15-$18 per hour.
Job Duties:
* Greet guests warmly, provide exceptional customer service, in person and on the telephone.
* Maintain open and efficient communication with other departments.
* Demonstrate commitment to hotel by professional appearance, respectful communication, and integrity.
* Ensure balanced accounting functions, including cash banks, credit card processing and room charges.
* Resolve customer issues in an efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
* Be a concierge by understanding hotel amenities and area activities in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Skills:
* Decision making using fair judgement.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Effective communication, written and verbal.
Physical Demands:
* Prolonged periods of standing and working at the front desk.
* Must be able to lift to 30 pounds.
* Must be able to work from 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm, including weekends and holidays.
Required Education and Experience:
* No specific education required.
* Hotel experience or similar office experience preferred, but not required.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
* Depending on federal and state guidelines, applicant may be required to complete COVID-19 test and/or quarantine for 14 days before beginning employment.
* Willingness to work outside the job description to assist as needed in other areas of the hotel.
