Position Summary Historic Wade House Stagecoach Inn, Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum, blacksmith shop, sawmill and grounds in Greenbush, Wisconsin. The site offers guided tours from May - early November with special events throughout the year. The Visitor Center and Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum is open year-round. The Front Desk Associate is responsible for the daily reception of customers and groups to the Wade House Historic Site. They are expected to provide excellent customer service, navigate the point-of-sale system, and help coordinate and restock gift shop items. They will be responsible for introducing guests to the site, giving them instructions for the various site activities, providing directions and making suggestions for other local opportunities when asked. The Front Desk Associate is the face of Wade House and is responsible for setting a positive tone for the guest experience. Duties:
- Provide exceptional customer service to guests
- Ensure all visitors are properly ticketed and all admission fees are collected and that all visitors receive proper identification prior to leaving the ticketing area. Keep all ticketing materials organized.
- Provide assistance and guidance to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Perform opening and closing procedures for all duty stations.
- Coordinate the rotation of youth and adult tours on site within the established guidelines and coordinate with the Wade House team.
- Answer all routine telephone inquiries and transfer calls as needed to the appropriate staff member. If the requested staff member is unavailable, record accurate and complete telephone messages and route to the appropriate site personnel.
Assist with gift shop operations:
- Provide customers with information about gift shop merchandise that relates to site themes.
- Restock store merchandise as needed. Report any popular selling gift shop items that are out-of-stock to the Front Desk Lead.
- Maintain displays and arrange in a neat and attractive manner. Re-arrange large display areas or store display furniture as instructed by the Front Desk Lead.
- Price and display merchandise.
Salary Information Pay is $14.00 per hour with a weekend differential of 80 cents per hour. This classification is in schedule and class 02-09. Please note this is a Limited Term Employment position so it does not include paid time off or benefits upon hire.
Job Details A criminal background check will be conducted by WHS prior to an offer of employment to determine if the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job. This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and limited to 1,039 hours. This position will be part time and average 15 hours per week. Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions. Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status. WHS does not sponsor work visas. Any appointment made will be contingent on the applicant being able to prove valid status to work in the United States.

- Skills and ability to communicate effectively in person and by other means with staff, guests, and volunteers of diverse backgrounds and interests.
- Ability to carry out assigned duties with a minimum of supervision.
- Ability to complete assigned duties in historic structures lacking climate control and with direct exposure to the outdoors in farm and wooded environments, including allergens and insects, may need to work outside in all weather conditions on occasion.
- Work involves daily contact with the public, and may involve dealing with difficult people, large groups of people, and facilitating experiences for guests facing challenges.
- Days and hours may vary to accommodate specific programs and events.
- Ability to use computer applications, including email, time keeping software, MS office applications, and Internet browsers.
