Position Summary Redeemer East Side is seeking someone who thrives in the early hours and is friendly and punctual, to serve as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and event clients at our E91st Street building. This role is essential in ensuring smooth morning operations and providing a welcoming and professional presence at the front desk. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and able to handle administrative, security, and guest service responsibilities with ease. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to interact professionally with a wide range of guests, vendors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities Reception and Guest Services
Greet all guests and visitors in a warm, professional, and friendly manner, setting a positive tone for the day.
Ensure timely arrival and readiness to open the building each morning.
Provide dependable and reliable coverage during scheduled shifts.
Direct guests to their destinations and answer questions about the facility and scheduled events.
Answer and manage phone calls, including screening and forwarding calls appropriately.
Assist with setting up digital signage and flight boards for morning events and classes.
Manage communications via walkie-talkies with on-site staff.
Oversee morning check-ins for staff and guests, ensuring proper identification and clearance as well as an efficient and welcoming experience.
Security and Access Management
Collaborate with the building operations team to maintain a secure environment, including monitoring entry points and upholding safety protocols.
Report any security incidents or guest feedback to the appropriate management staff.
Maintain a detailed understanding of the facility layout, policies, and security procedures to assist visitors effectively.
Administrative Support
Receive, sort, and distribute morning deliveries and mail.
Respond to emails and initial event space rental inquiries.
Maintain and update front desk documents, including instruction manuals, contact lists, and policy documents.
Ensure that lobby materials (brochures, information cards, etc.) are stocked and organized.
Provide assistance during morning events, as needed.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
At least two years of experience in customer service, hospitality, office assistance, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to hospitality and professionalism.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Proficient computer skills, including MacOS, Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana.
Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 30 pounds as needed.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and creating a fantastic first impression for visitors.
Preferred skills
CPR, First Aid, and Mental Health First Aid certifications are a plus.
Familiarity with the Upper East Side of Manhattan is a plus.
Spanish proficiency, or knowledge of other languages, is a plus.
