Residential and Dining Services

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Residential and Dining Services (RDS) oversees on-campus housing and dining at Stevens. Stevens' housing includes traditional residence halls, Fraternity and Sorority housing, and two new residential towers. In the summer, RDS also offers housing to non-Stevens college interns, and camp/conference groups, both internal and external.

The Front Desk Attendant is a critical position that provides excellent customer service to residential students, families, campus visitors, and campus community members visiting the Residential Towers. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Desk and Summer Conference Services. Front Desk Attendants are responsible for ensuring a professional, efficient, and approachable customer service experience to our students and the Stevens Community at large.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Greets and welcomes visitors upon arrival, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere.

* Provides professional, efficient, and approachable support and excellent customer service to students, visitors, and Stevens Community members.

* Accurately answers visitor questions regarding a wide variety of topics, including building, classroom, and office locations.

* Reports any safety concerns to the attention of Student Affairs On-Call staff and/or Campus Police.

* Reports urgent and non-urgent maintenance concerns.

* Performs any other duties as may reasonably be required.

* This position includes weekends and overnight hours.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

* High School Diploma or GED required.

* Good organizational skills

* Basic computer literacy skills including proficiency with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

* Positive attitude with excellent oral and written communication skills.

* Ability to walk, stand, and be active for long periods of time, and ability to lift 20-25 pounds without assistance.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks with careful attention to detail.

* Ability to work well as part of a team, as well as independently.

* Ability to work creatively to troubleshoot and problem-solve.

* Be able to work with all students, staff, and faculty regardless of race, gender, and ethnicity tactfully, and ensure all guests have a great residential experience.
