Job Type Part-time, Temporary Description Working at your Community Pool is one of the most fun jobs you can have in the summer. The SAY operates two seasonal Outdoor Pool Facilities, The Berkeley Heights Community Pool at the YMCA, Located at 59 Locust Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ and The Springfield Community Pool, located at 44 Morrison Road, Springfield, NJ 07081. There are open Front Desk positions for both locations. The Community Pool Front Desk Staff delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the check in and locker room area. This position is seasonal with an opportunity to work up to 40 hours each week. Wages are competitive, starting $17/hour, but based on experience. The active Outdoor Pool season runs from Late May - Early September with some pre season work/ trainings. - Check In and ensure all members / guests have appropriate memberships and up-to-date waivers
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants at the Community Pool and on the phone.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- Maintains confidentiality of members' records.
- Conducts daily desk operations.
- Answers telephones and takes appropriately messages.
- Supports all facility staff in emergency.
- Monitors member entrance to pool.
- Monitors and documents all visitors at pool.
- Efficiently completes opening and closing procedures and maintains cleanliness of check in area.
- Job responsibilities may include, but not limited to, maintaining a clean and safe facility, monitoring the first-aid station, organizing and distributing board games.
Requirements
- Effective communication, interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Strong computer skills & knowledge.
- Ability to handle money transactions.
- Age requirement is 18 years and older.
- Previous customer service, sales or related experience is preferred.
