Your Role on the Team This highly detailed individual is assigned to oversee key components of the Disability Services Center (DSC) including front office support and supervision of student staff. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing a wide variety of administrative activities including: office reception activities, directing calls from students, faculty, staff, parents, and the general public. The legally required accommodations provided by this position are complex, highly time sensitive, and must be effectively provided with the utmost security. The individual must be able to answer general questions and give a broad overview of disability services, ensure confidentiality of records and information, manage staff appointments, and provide support in the provision of various student accommodations. Work hours: Monday - Thursday, 12:30pm - 8:30pm with 30 minute break (30 work hours per week). Required: Knowledge of the legal framework involving accommodations for disabilities through state and federal laws and regulations in relation to the narrow focus of specialization. Skill in communicating with students, faculty, staff, and vendors concerning access accommodations. Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment and to mediate in responding to issues and concerns involving supervisors as necessary. Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality. Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training CA Driver License 1-3 years of disability services or a closely related field Preferred: Highly skilled in use of computers and technology for data management, scheduling and communication, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. Well versed on and can articulate and apply the Social Justice Model regarding disability in Higher Education.
