Arepet Industries, LLC has an immediate opening for a Front end Loader at our Von Ormy plant.
Position Summary
The front end loader operator will perform operations and production activities to achieve shift goals and ensure the safe operation and maintenance of equipment. Shifts are 12hrs (7 to 7) - 4 days on and 4 days off.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Able to perform and understands all functions necessary to load and unload trucks to achieve production from the plant.
Communicate with scale operator to ensure the proper loading of outgoing trucks in regards to weight and type of sand.
Coordinate with drivers or scale operator to ensure the proper loading of sand from the hopper by weight and type of sand.
Perform maintenance duties on loader specifically grease fittings, change air filters, and ensure loader is fueled. Assist in additional maintenance duties as required on the plant.
Clear all sand from the hopper at the end of the production run.
Assist the foreman and mechanic on duty to ensure the continued operation of the plant and equipment.
Execute direction of assigned tasks from the Foreman Shift Operating Plan.
Assist in performing the Production Area Inspection Checklist.
Ensure the plant and warehouse area is ready for production and areas are free of debris, and organized by sand type for each designated area.
Attend safety meetings and meetings of priority as required by Safety Manager and Plant Management.
Execute the direction and priorities set by the Safety Manager and Plant Management.
Attend safety meetings and meetings of priority as required by Foreman, Safety Manager, and Plant Manager.
May perform additional assignments as necessary.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Must have mechanical knowledge
Must be able to execute direction
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, overtime and holidays as needed
Must be able to read equipment operating manual
Must be able to wear all required safety equipment
Must be able to communicate with hand signals and warning sounds, with coworkers regarding movement of vehicles and mobile equipment
Must be service oriented with proven ability to work in a TEAM environment
Must be able to follow instructions as well as make some independent decisions
Must be able to perform duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must have heavy equipment experience (certification preferred)
Must have production/operations experience (3 years' experience or more preferred)
Physical Requirements
This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders on a repetitive basis
Must be able to stoop, bend and lift 50 lbs from ground to waist level on a repetitive basis
Must work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, SAND and noisy conditions
Must be able to work at various heights
Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controls
Possess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feet
