Job Description :

“The opportunity is out there. You just have to find it.” Tom Golisano, Founder

Who We Are Looking For: Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship seeks a full-time faculty member who will be responsible for teaching and supporting courses primarily in our career development sequence of classes, which are a required component of the academic program. These classes consist of Career Design & Professional Readiness, Personal Branding & Networking, and academic internship courses. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of classroom instruction based in applied and active learning strategies, as well as knowledge of both employer expectations, job market demands, and industry trends, as related to workforce readiness.

We seek faculty who actively embrace an open mindset towards thoughtfully integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other technology into their teaching, advising, and mentorship. The ideal candidate aims to enhance their own teaching effectiveness and significantly enrich our students' learning experiences and skills. Our faculty will have a strong and consistent commitment to student learning including multi- and interdisciplinary integration between courses, so students understand connections and increase their lateral thinking. Faculty choose to teach at our Institute because:

  • They want to teach; student learning and empowerment is their passion and their purpose.

  • They want to improve; continuous pedagogical & professional improvement is in their DNA.

Who We Are: The Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship is a non-profit post- secondary education institution dedicated to propelling the next generation of business leaders forward—while ensuring they're not held back by debt. • Normal teaching load is 12 courses per 4 Quarters, with each Quarters' load determined in conjunction with Academic Affairs Leadership. Terms serving as Lead Faculty carry a load reduction to 3 courses and usually only 1-2 preps.
  • Our courses are integrated within, and between, Quarters, so these detailed course builds will include integrated assignments with other courses running concurrently
  • Collaboration with our Director of Teaching and Learning and/or Learning Engineer for support in assuring assignment design is constructed with an assessment lens, and emphasizing and ensuring active learning in each class meeting session
  • Collaboration with Director of Educational Technology and/or Learning Engineer in their conversion of these plans into our Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas
  • This is accomplished through relevant co-teaching assignments and weekly Team sync meetings
  • Teaching / Advising / Community & Professional Development, as explained in the Detailed Faculty Role Overview
  • This position reports into the AVP for Career and Personal Development as well as the Chief Academic Officer.
